Read Activity - One City Two Earthquake

This week my reading group and I were reading about One City Two Earthquakes. My friend and I were Christchurch earthquake. One The first  

one happened in September 2010 and the second one happened in February 2011. The February Earthquake did more damage although the September one had a higher magnitude of 7.1.

Conflict:Pie keeps on picking the cabbage plants of the ground

Resolution: Grandpa built a cage for Pie so he can't get

Beginning: Grandpa grows gigantic vegetables. Sometimes he evens gets prizes for the biggest vegetables

Middle: Grandpa’s garden was going the right but when his friend vet gave him a magpie, everything changed. Even the magpie took the cabbage plants from the ground

End:So grandpa decided to build a little cage for the magpie so he can’t pull any cabbage plants from the ground.

Today we learnt that:

  UV radiation cause sunburn and wrinkles, and ages our skin or makes it look old.

• If you get badly sunburn when you are a kid or teenager, skin cell that cause damage to your skin could increase the risk of skin cancer when you're an adult.
• If there are thin clouds in the sky UV radiation still can reach your skin .
• Most UV radiation reaches us between 12pm and 2pm.

science intensive

Today on the 14 of September 2016, room 10 and I had science intensive with Mr. Nath in room 8.

First Mr. Nath told us to sit in lines of four and ask us about our grade/year are. We got on our Chromebooks and start reading how to connect wires to make a little light bulb light up. Then we read how electricity works and what cause lighting.We read all the way to morning tea. After morning tea, we Mr. Nath gave us some materials. You need 2 wires, 1 big battery, I mini light bulb and 1 light bulb holder. If you want to know to make your own, click here

I feel sad about what I read today because Mahue came last in the race

My favourite character was Mahue because he is funny

I would feel Sad if the same thing that happened to my character, happened to me because i would come last.

I think if the author decided to write another part, Mahue would come first.

Financial Lit

Today, room 10 and I had Financial lit with Griegan and Raymond.

Today our topic was risking and insurance. Our First activity was  how to prevent yourself from getting injured and going to the hospital. The second activity how to prevent a car from getting stolen or broke down. 2 of our answer are don’t drink and drive and do not text and drive.at the end of the lesson, Griegan and Raymond gave us chocolate for the whole class.

I felt happy and sad because they gave my chocolate and it was there last day at room 10

chemical reaction

Today at science intensive we learnt about a chemical reaction with Mrs Stone. 


The experiment we did was a rocket experiment. first, we Taped three 3 Pencils to a bottle then we put vinegar inside the bottle half way. After that, we put baking soda in a small paper towel and raped it up. After that, it was good to go. We went outside to do the experiment. First, it was group 1 turn. Group 1s experiment was a fail. Now it was group 2s turn. Group 2s also was a fail. It was our team's turn (group 3). Group 3's also failed. Last but not least group 4. Group 4s experiment was the best one. The point of it was getting the bottle to fly in the air.

I felt happy because I know a lot about chemical reaction

Today in maths I learnt to do my timetables.

Tennis

1. On the 1 of September 2016, room 10 and I had tennis on the court with Mr. Campbell.
2. At tennis, Mr. Campbell told us about his life and how he played cricket and how he lost all the time.After all that we had a practice first before got into the game. In my team was Fasi, Po,Tui, Alex, and Me. After that, our team made a high score.
