Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5

Day 5: Looking into the Future

Activity 1: Your Future Self
It may be hard to imagine, but one day you will graduate from high school and it will be time to decide what to do next. You may want to study at university, become an apprentice, go to training college, travel, or start working. There are so many options!

Take a minute to think about your future. What would you like to do when you finish school? Would you like to work in a specific job? Would you like to study at university? What would you study? Maybe you’d even like to move overseas. Share your thoughts and ideas on your blog site. There are no wrong answers!

When I grow up, first i want to play rugby then when i grow a little bit older, i want to be a cook. The reason why i want to play rugby is because my brothers play rugby and The reason why i want to be a cook is to own a restaurant and make delicious food when i make Dinner.

Activity 2: Flying Cars
Let’s imagine that you’ve just learned to drive, and your family has decided to buy you a brand new car. You are allowed to choose from any of the following designs:

Red-Cadillac-750x443.jpghummer.pngflying car (2).jpg

On your blog please tell us which of the three cars you would choose and why.

The car I'll pick is the Flying car. The reason why I'll pick the Flying car is because, you can get there faster, Impress other people with my amazing Flying car and Fly above traffic.

Bonus Activity: Blade Runner 2049
blade runner.jpg
There is a new movie out in cinemas at the moment called Blade Runner 2049.

It is a movie about what the world will be like in the future. Imagine that you able to travel through time and that you can see what the world will look like in 2099.

On your blog write a description of what New Zealand will be like at that time (80 – 90 years from now). What kind of houses will people live in? What will they eat? Where will they work?

I think 80 years from now, food such as Mince and bread will cost only 3 dollars. Regular Iphones will be only 5 or 6 dollars but I think there will be holograms as the new Iphones. I am pretty sure there are going to be some lethal weapons in the future. or we can stay the same with the normal food and the normal Phones

BONUS POINTS: 20

  3. Hola Saia,

Congratulations for finishing/completing the Summer learning journey ! You must be proud of yourself.

I really enjoyed the choice of your car because I got the same choice as you, we must both love it right?

I also like the choices of your future self ! I think a cook would suit you perfectly. Maybe when it actually comes true, I can come to your restaurant and ask for the specials.

    Once again Saia, Congrats!

  6. Hey there Siosaia, my name is Billy and I work alongside Nicky at the Summer Learning Journey programme with Rachel. Thank you for completing another set of activities and congratulations on completing the entire programme this summer. You are going to be so clever when you go back to school next week!

Thanks for sharing your goals and aspirations for the future. It's awesome to hear that you have two different goals. I like the you want to play rugby and then when you get a little older become a chef or a cook. You will always have something yum to make and eat. It's a very good idea! Plus, you could work as a cook/chef at night and play and train for rugby in the day time. You could do both at once!
What position will you play in rugby?

I've also enjoyed reading your predictions for the future. It would be really nice if iPhones were that cheap! Holograms would be such a cool feature of new phones. What do you think our homes will be like? Will there be robots working for us? What kind of jobs might we have?

    Thanks Billy
